The Territorial Youth Department have two different scholarships available for 2018! 

The Experienced Youth Worker Scholarship Grant 2018 is a grant of up to $1000 for experienced youth workers in The Salvation Army for the purpose of developing their skills and practice.

This is aimed at investing into retaining and developing some of our key experienced youth workers who bring a wealth of knowledge and skills to The Salvation Army and our young people.

The following are the requirements that must be met in order to be eligible for the scholarship:

  • Actively involved in youth work in a corps/centre for at least three years 
  • Applicant agrees to enrol or has enrolled in a recognised programme / study with a youth focus or component.
  • In order to receive the scholarship, relevant documentation will have to be submitted (i.e. tax invoice, enrolment letter).
  • Note: this is not an ongoing commitment but a once off grant.

The Youth Strategy Grant 2018 is available for corps/centres to apply for up to $500 to encourage and support initiatives that will either:

Through their youth ministry, promote partnering with other expressions of The Salvation Army (e.g. corps, centres, E&E) – doing mission together. The idea would be to have two or more expressions doing an event or something together (i.e. BBQ, graduation celebration, etc.) and/or;

Create evangelistic opportunities aimed at young people – offer a place to belong (i.e. outreach event)
Note: this is not an ongoing commitment but a once off grant.
