The Territorial Youth Department is excited to be offering two different funding opportunities for youth work and youth workers within The Salvation Army in New Zealand, Fiji, Tonga and Samoa in 2021:

 

Experienced Youth Worker Scholarship

We're excited to be offering scholarships of up to $1000 for experienced youth workers in The Salvation Army for the purpose of developing their skills and practice.

These are the requirements that must be met in order to be eligible for the scholarship:

  • Actively involved in youth work in a corps/centre for at least three years.
  • Applicant agrees to enrol or has enrolled in a recognised programme/study with a youth focus or component.
  • In order to receive the scholarship, relevant documentation will have to be submitted (i.e. tax invoice, enrolment letter).

All completed applications must be endorsed by the applicants Corps Officer/Centre Manager and sent to their Divisional Youth Secretary no later than 5pm on Friday, 9 April 2021. Successful applicants will be notified by Friday, 16 April 2021.

Youth Strategy Grant

As part of its National Youth Strategy, The Territorial Youth Department is offering a limited amount of one-off grants up to $500 to corps/centres to encourage and support initiatives that will either:

  • through their youth ministry, promote partnering with other expressions of The Salvation Army (e.g., corps, centres, Community Ministries); the idea being to have two or more expressions of The Salvation Army doing mission together through a combined event or activity (e.g., BBQ, graduation celebration), and/or:
  • create evangelistic opportunities aimed at young people, offering them a place to belong (e.g., outreach event).

All completed applications must be endorsed by the applicants Corps Officer/Centre Manager and sent to their Divisional Youth Secretary no later than 5pm on Friday, 9 April 2021. Successful applicants will be notified by Friday, 16 April 2021.
